Children from the poorest 20% of society are three times more likely to have common mental health problems. And an increasing number of children face emotional difficulties that affect their ability to learn and to do well at school and achieve their full potential.
The Place2Be is an award-winning charity that provides an integrated school-based service, offering swift access to counselling and other services. Working in 170 schools across the UK, we intervene early, from when problems start, supporting 58,000 children aged 4-13 with emotional and behavioural problems who often miss out on receiving adequate help from statutory services. We provide targeted support for parents and work in partnership with head teachers and schools. Our service and its effectiveness are continually monitored and evaluated enabling schools to see positive results.
